REWIRE at the Forum INCYBER Europe – Lille, France

The Forum INCYBER (previously known as FIC) is one of the largest European forum in cybersecurity. It brings together experts, specialists and key players in the area of cybersecurity. This moment of exchange has three objectives: (1) find operational solutions, trainings, tools to be deployed within companies and organizations, (2) share experiences related to cyberattacks and launch a collective reflection, based on the know-how of each, and (3) participate in building a safer and more resilient digital world. The last edition took place from March 26-28, 2024, with a theme entitled “Ready for Artificial Intelligence ?”

With more than 20.000 participants from all over Europe, this international forum includes multiple exhibitors who come to present cybersecurity activites, products and tools, workshops and discussion times.

Through its history and origins, the forum brings together political actors such as European Ministries of Defense as well as private actors, such as IT companies.

The plenary sessions of the Forum INCYBER included a speech by Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for the Internal Market, an interview of Jean-Philippe Lecouffe, Head of Europol, on the subject “Between operational successes and technological challenges: Europol’s analysis”, a panel discussion on “European Solidarity in Cybersecurity” with Anu Talus, Luca Tagliaretti and Ake Holmgren, a Keynote by Daniel Markic on the “European Regulatory Framework for Digital Security and Trust”, and speeches by General Watin-Augouard, Pascal Steichen and Guillaume Tissier.

During this forum, the last results of the REWIRE cybersecurity skills alliance were presented by Remi Badonnel, Professor at University de Lorraine/TELECOM Nancy (France), in particular the cybersecurity blueprint and its different components. A particular focus has been given to the cybersecurity skill framework and to the upcoming online courses designed and implemented for selected cybersecurity profiles, in particular cyber incident responder, cyber threat intelligence specialist, penetration tester, and chief information security officer.
